GreatDDNS is operated by Exodus Telecom Inc. ("we", "us", "our"), a telecommunications company incorporated in Ontario, Canada. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it. By using GreatDDNS, you consent to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the service:

Account information: Your email address and the username you choose at registration. Optionally, a business or organization name if you choose to provide one.

Device and DNS data: The hostnames you register, the public IP addresses submitted by your devices during check-ins, and the timestamps of those check-ins.

Monitoring preferences: If you enable uptime monitoring, we store the notification email address you specify and alert/recovery event timestamps.

Technical logs: Standard web server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse prevention purposes.

We do not collect payment information. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We do not use third-party analytics platforms.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

Operate the DNS service — resolving your hostnames to the IP addresses your devices report. Authenticate your account and devices via API tokens. Send email verification messages at registration. Send uptime alert and recovery notifications if you have enabled monitoring. Investigate abuse reports and enforce our Terms of Service. Communicate material changes to the service or these policies.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances: when required by Canadian law or a valid court order; to our hosting and infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GreatDDNS, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

Account information is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated devices, hostnames, and personal information are permanently removed within 30 days.

Device check-in logs are retained for 90 days on a rolling basis and then automatically purged. Web server access logs are retained for 90 days and then deleted.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on servers located in Canada. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, token-based device authentication, and access controls limiting who can access production systems. No security measure is perfect, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

6. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

As a Canadian resident, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections to inaccurate information, to withdraw consent to certain uses of your information (which may require account deletion), and to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@greatddns.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

GreatDDNS uses only a single session cookie required for login authentication. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party cookie services.

8. Children's Privacy

GreatDDNS is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
